The option to divert youth out of court
is written into NH law, yet it is not required.

The Network was started in the 1980′s by a group of people who were
creating more effective ways to deal with low-risk juvenile offenders
who didn’t belong in court. These dedicated folks got together to support
themselves, share ideas and knowledge, and help start other new programs.
Since then the Network has grown to its current size, complete with
a full-time employee. Although programs have come and gone in the interim,
diversion is still available in every county and almost every district
court in New Hampshire.

Although the option to divert youth out of court is written into NH
law, keep in mind that it is not required. Just as important, the choice
to accept a referral to diversion is completely voluntary on the part
of the juvenile offender and his/her family. All clients who are referred
to a diversion program must first go through an intake interview with
the program staff who then makes the final decision about accepting
a youth into the program.

Our Board:

The board consists of 4 members of the organization who are elected
for terms ranging from 1 – 3 years. The current board members are:
